The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has alleged that Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, shot an NDC supporter in the leg during the election period.
Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Gyamfi warned that accountability will be pursued once John Dramani Mahama is sworn in as President on January 7.
“Annoh-Dompreh will face the consequences of his actions. January 7 is not far,” Gyamfi declared.
Gyami further revealed that two NDC supporters were reportedly murdered at Akomadan, raising concerns about violence targeting party members.
Despite these incidents, he urged NDC supporters to remain calm, emphasizing that results declared at collation centers cannot be altered at regional levels.
“Let us maintain peace because the results from the collation centers are final and cannot be changed,” he assured.
Provisional results from 12 out of 16 regions suggest a significant lead for the NDC, with John Mahama securing 3,874,329 votes (60.20%) against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2,445,495 votes (38.00%).
Gyamfi expressed confidence in the outcome, stating that the figures reflect the will of Ghanaians, and reiterated the party’s commitment to defending the electoral process.
