The Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), Sammy Gyamfi, has denied allegations that he spent GHS173,940 on office furniture and a fridge.
In a Facebook post on February 15, Gyamfi labeled the claims as “totally false” and clarified that he had not made any changes to his office since assuming the role on January 20, 2025.
“All the things in my office, including the chair, desk, and fridge, were there before I assumed office. Not even the A4 sheets or pens on my office desk have been changed,” he stated.
Gyamfi further urged the public to verify such claims before accepting them as fact, pointing to what he described as deliberate misinformation spread by members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He accused political opponents of attempting to mislead the public in the wake of their electoral defeat, stating that their actions were aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
He reiterated that any reasonable person could verify that no new purchases had been made under his leadership.
Emphasizing the need for caution, Gyamfi called on Ghanaians to be wary of “fake news” and urged them to double-check information circulated by NPP-affiliated communicators and social media users.
“The general public is humbly entreated to be on the lookout for fake news from the desperate NPP,” he warned.
