Over the weekend, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) conducted its parliamentary primaries to elect new parliamentary candidates ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The election saw over 300 candidates, including incumbent MPs, put themselves up to be the party’s parliamentary representative in various constituencies.
The election which was organised on Saturday, January 27, 2024, was largely peaceful with some shocking outcomes as some incumbent MPs lost their parliamentary seats.
Apart from the 19 incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) members of Parliament who have decided not to return to the House, 28 others have lost their bids in Saturday’s primaries.
