The Volta Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four suspects in connection with the murder of mobile money vendor Christopher Ahordo, who was fatally shot during a robbery near the Diamond Cement Factory at Gbagblakope in Aflao on April 28, 2025.
A press release issued on May 12 revealed that the suspects Michael Sewornu (34), Korku Agboada (43), Atsu Agbagla (36), and Utsuku Onyeso (22), a Nigerian national were apprehended during a joint intelligence-led operation involving multiple police units and a local community watch group known as ‘ACTION NOW’.
The suspects are in custody and assisting with investigations.
According to the police, the coordinated operation took place between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. on May 10.
Authorities say the assailants shot Ahordo around 6:15 p.m. and fled with a bag believed to contain money.
He died at the scene. The suspects are expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, May 13.
DSP Felix Danku, head of the Public Affairs Unit in the Volta Region, urged the public to support law enforcement efforts.
“We entreat the public to collaborate with us by providing credible and timely information about criminals,” he stated.
