The Ad-Hoc Parliamentary Committee probing the disruptions during the January 30 vetting of ministerial nominees will resume its hearings on Friday, February 7, 2025, following an abrupt suspension.
Committee Chairman Emmanuel Bedzrah confirmed the resumption, stating, “Today there will not be any public hearing, we will continue tomorrow.”
The suspension, which occurred on February 5, was linked to the Clerk of Parliament withdrawing staff, reportedly due to a lack of authorization from Speaker Alban Bagbin.
However, Bedzrah accused the Minority caucus of influencing the decision, alleging that Minority Leader Afenyo-Markin misled the Clerk by wrongly attributing the order to the Speaker.
As hearings resume, the committee will analyze video footage from the chaotic vetting session, question key witnesses, and compile a report for Parliament.
