A Volta River Aviation helicopter made an emergency landing on Monday morning at Nkawkaw, near the Nkawkaw bypass in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The aircraft, a Jet A-1 with registration number 9G-AFW, was travelling from Accra to Kumasi when the pilot was compelled to land due to poor visibility caused by harsh weather conditions in the area.
Sources at the scene confirmed that both the pilot and crew members are safe.
The incident drew the attention of local residents, who gathered to observe the aircraft after the unscheduled landing. Authorities are expected to assess the situation before the helicopter resumes its journey.
