Governance expert at the Ghana Integrity Initiative, Micheal Boadi, has charged members of parliament to prioritize national interests over political and parochial interests.
His comment follows calls by the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Aseidu Nkeriah to the NDC MPs to boycott parliament until after the elections.
However, Speaking to ABC News on Monday, Mr. Boadi said parliamentarians should put citizen interests first over their parochial interests.
“Lets put the interest of the state over and above our partisan and individual interest.”
“I believe that at this point Ghana needs their MPs to work. There is nothing more to it than that,” he said.
He lamented that there is a need to respect the interests of Ghanaians, which is what they were voted to parliament for.
