George Opare Addo, popularly known as Pablo, has been nominated as the Minister-Designate for Youth Development and Empowerment, marking a significant milestone in his political career.
The announcement was made by President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, January 16, amidst a broader ministerial reshuffle aimed at revitalizing the administration.
In his acceptance statement, Opare Addo expressed profound gratitude to the President for the confidence reposed in him. He underscored the urgency and importance of his new role, emphasizing the need for transformative leadership.
“This is not just a personal milestone but a collective opportunity to rewrite the story of our nation’s youth. This story belongs to you, the young people of our nation, and we will write it together. Today is Day 1, and we don’t have the luxury of time,” he stated, signaling a bold and ambitious agenda for youth development.
The nomination has sparked discussions across political and social circles, with supporters hailing it as a step towards bridging generational gaps in leadership.
Critics, however, have questioned whether the bold rhetoric will translate into tangible results for Ghana’s youth.
