Divine Epe, a renowned Education Specialist, has called for a more efficient approach to leadership within Ministry of Education.
Speaking on ABC News Ghana on Thursday, he advocated for reducing the number of deputy ministers to one, emphasizing the untapped potential of Chief Directors in the ministry.
“It is high time we use one deputy in the Ministry of Education,” he stated, stressing the need for strategic reforms to cut down on bureaucracy.
Epe also emphasized the importance of resource equity within the education sector.
“I expect him to place equity on educational resources,” he said, referring to the incoming minister’s mandate.
While acknowledging the perennial challenge of inadequate financing, Epe advised that the ministry should focus on optimizing the use of available resources.
“It is not always about money. He is to ensure that the little resources he receives should make meaning,” he added, urging a pragmatic and impactful approach to education management.
