There is heavy police presence at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) headquarters following the arrest of Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
According to a live report by ABC News GH’s Andy Oppong Dankyi, officers have mounted barricades in front of the premises to control the growing number of party supporters and ensure no breach of security.
Despite the tense atmosphere, the situation remains peaceful, with no incidents of violence reported.
A number of prominent New Patriotic Party (NPP) figures, including Kennedy Agyapong, have been seen at the EOCO premises in a show of support. However, all declined to speak to the media.

Journalists have been barred from accessing the compound, with strict security protocols in place.
ABC News GH also reports that Wontumi has not yet returned to EOCO after reportedly being rushed to the hospital during interrogation. As of now, calm has been maintained at the scene.
