Electoral Commissioner Jean Mensa has assured the public that the ongoing impasse in the Ablekuma North constituency will be resolved soon.
This forms part of efforts to ensure a smooth and credible electoral process for the 2024 general elections.
Mrs. Mensa made this known during a meeting on Wednesday with the leadership of political parties at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) headquarters in Accra.
She added that the 2024 elections was the best in the history of Ghana.
Jean Mensah also clarified that it is not the commission’s policy for its members, including the chairperson and deputies, to attend swearing-in ceremonies unless they receive an official invitation.
She revealed that the commission did not receive an invitation to attend the swearing-in of President John Dramani Mahama or any ministerial inaugurations.
Her remarks come in response to questions about her absence at President Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony.
