Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim of the Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region has been interdicted by the Ghana Police Service following allegations of professional misconduct.
This move comes in response to a viral video showing the officer assaulting a member of the public.
According to the Police Service, this measure is intended to allow for a thorough investigation into the incident, in adherence to the Police Service Regulations.
In a statement, the Police revealed that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has reached out to the victim’s family to offer support and assure them of justice.
The IGP has tasked the Savannah Regional Police Commander with collaborating closely with the family to resolve the matter appropriately.
