Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has urged President Nana Akufo-Addo to halt the transition process until all constituency seats are fully declared by the Electoral Commission (EC).
Addressing the media at the Nsawam/Adoagyiri New Patriotic Party office,, Annoh-Dompreh emphasized the need for a transparent process, saying, “Let me appeal to H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, we know he has set in motion the transition process, but those who come with clean hands must ensure the process is completed fairly.”
The MP further called on both President Akufo-Addo and President-elect John Dramani Mahama to ensure that all outstanding seats are duly declared by the EC before proceeding with the transition.
He emphasized that it was crucial for the EC to finalize all results to avoid any ambiguity that could undermine the legitimacy of the transition process.
“H.E Akufo-Addo should halt the process and John Dramani Mahama, as President-elect, must ensure that all outstanding seats are declared duly by the EC,” Annoh-Dompreh stated.
Additionally, Annoh-Dompreh addressed the shooting incident in Nsawam that left one person hospitalized, denying any involvement in the matter.
He reassured the public, stating, “I have never wielded a gun before,” and called on the Ghana Police Service to investigate the incident.
He also responded to claims made by NDC Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, urging him to show more political maturity and cease spreading misinformation about his role in the election.
