Accra, Ghana – April 4, 2025 – The Borteyman Sports Complex was abuzz with excitement as the nation’s top badminton stars competed in the 2025 All Ghana Badminton Championships on March 30-31, 2025. The two-day tournament delivered high-energy matches, showcasing the rapid growth of badminton in Ghana and the exceptional talent emerging across the country.

Men’s Singles: Ahmad Abdul-Samad Reigns Supreme
In a fiercely contested men’s singles division, Ahmad Abdul-Samad claimed the championship title with a masterclass in precision and strategy. His path to victory featured intense rallies and clutch performances, thrilling fans throughout the tournament.

Andy Amofa put up a valiant fight to secure second place, while Jonathan Ankrah and Leslie Nii Adote Addo rounded out the podium in third and fourth, respectively—each proving their mettle as future contenders.

Women’s Singles: Racheal Quarcoo Dominates the Court
The women’s singles competition was equally electrifying, with Racheal Quarcoo emerging as champion after a series of dominant performances. Her speed, tactical brilliance, and relentless determination left spectators in awe.

Eduam Jennifer secured a well-earned second place, while Naah Charity and Vanessa Anyetei took third and fourth, highlighting the depth of talent in Ghanaian women’s badminton.

A Milestone for Ghanaian Badminton
Hosted at the world-class Borteyman Sports Complex, the championships not only celebrated elite competition but also reinforced badminton’s rising profile in Ghana. The event drew enthusiastic crowds, underscoring the sport’s growing appeal among fans and aspiring athletes.

Mr. Evans Yeboah, CGMA, Vice President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) and former GOC Finance Chair, commended the organizers and players, stating:
“This championship demonstrates the incredible potential of Ghanaian badminton. With proper investment and structured development programs, our athletes can compete on the global stage. Financial sustainability and strategic partnerships will be key to unlocking this future.”

The Ghana Badminton Federation praised the tournament’s success, reiterating its commitment to nurturing young talent and expanding grassroots participation.

The 2025 All Ghana Badminton Championships was more than a tournament—it was a testament to the passion, skill, and bright future of the sport in Ghana. As these athletes continue to shine, the nation eagerly anticipates even greater achievements in the years to come.
