Ghana’s U15 national team kicked off their 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship campaign with a commanding 2-0 victory over Uganda in their opening Group A fixture at the University of Ghana Stadium on Wednesday.

Rising star John Andor stole the spotlight, netting both goals in a performance that emphasized Ghana’s ambition to win the tournament on home soil.

The exciting winger opened the scoring with a dazzling solo run, slicing through Uganda’s backline before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper. His second came following a goalkeeping blunder, but the teenager was alert to pounce and double Ghana’s lead.

Though this marks Ghana’s debut appearance in the competition, the team looked anything but inexperienced. They maintained control throughout the 40-minute match—played over two 20-minute halves—displaying both offensive flair and defensive solidity.

Looking ahead, Ghana’s schedule intensifies on Thursday with two tough back-to-back fixtures. They face South Africa at 11:00 a.m. and will return to the pitch later in the day for a 3:00 p.m. showdown against Algeria.

With a strong start behind them, Ghana’s U15s are well on track to challenge for the ultimate prize when the tournament wraps up on April 26.
