President John Dramani Mahama is set to unveil a new Code of Conduct for all government appointees today, Monday, May 5, 2025, as part of his administration’s 120-day Social Contract.
The announcement was made by Minister in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, in a Facebook post on Sunday, describing the week as pivotal to the government’s reform and integrity agenda.
The Code of Conduct, initially announced during the swearing-in of ministers, aims to set out clear ethical standards and expectations for public officeholders. President Mahama has stated that the new framework will define the “dos and don’ts” of public service, eliminating ambiguity and reinforcing a strong culture of accountability.
The code is expected to serve as a benchmark for behaviour across all levels of government and strengthen public trust in state institutions.
This initiative forms part of a broader commitment by the Mahama administration to entrench transparency, combat corruption, and uphold responsible governance.
The unveiling comes at a time when the administration is taking stock of progress made under its 120-day Social Contract, which includes reforms in public service delivery, youth employment, and institutional integrity.
