The Black Stars of Ghana have been drawn in Group L in the 2026 World Cup to face England, Croatia and Panama following Friday’s final draw held on December 5, 2025.
The outcome of the grouping places Ghana against two seasoned European contenders with strong World Cup track records.
England, boasting one of the world’s most valuable squads and Croatia, renowned for their consistency in recent tournaments, promise to test the Black Stars’ character and tactical discipline.
Panama, meanwhile, presents Ghana with a first-ever World Cup meeting, offering an unpredictable but winnable challenge.

The 2026 tournament’s expanded 48-team format adds further dynamics to the campaign. With only the top two teams securing automatic qualification to the knockout stage and four additional third-placed teams advancing based on their performance.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is expected to outline the national team’s pre-tournament plan soon, including international friendlies and training camps aimed at fine-tuning the squad ahead of the summer competition.
The FIFA World Cup will run from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across the United States, Mexico and Canada, featuring a record 104 matches under the new format.
