Abena Osei Asare, the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, has declared that the Ghanaian economy is on the right path.
Speaking during the Grand Finale of the Presidential Pitch – Season 5, the event hosted by the Ministry of Finance and the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Asare highlighted the government’s relentless efforts since 2021 to bolster economic stability and job creation.
“Certainly, it has not been easy since 2021. However, guided by the sense of urgency and strong partnerships, Government has executed far-reaching policy measures through the Covid-19 plan for economic growth,” Asare stated.
She emphasized that these efforts are addressing longstanding structural weaknesses, with positive indicators now reflecting the economy’s firm path toward stability.
The event, hosted by the Ministry of Finance and the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), showcased 30 finalists, with the top 10 entrepreneurs set to present their innovative ideas to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.
This platform offers a unique opportunity for these emerging leaders to pitch their groundbreaking ideas, aimed at fostering job creation and societal impact.
This edition according to NEIP received over 300 applicants spanning various sectors including fintech, agriculture, technology, and creative arts, the Presidential Pitch – Season 5. These numbers were therefore strategically and efficiently brought down to the top 10 who will be pitching their works directly to the President today.
The event also had some intensive training sessions, equipping these entrepreneurs with crucial skills, setting the stage for potential transformative contributions to the nation’s economy.
The top 10 participants presented innovative project ideas, such as a smartwatch designed to monitor health metrics and assess vital signs. Another notable proposal involved manufacturing panel boards from coconut waste, aimed at enhancing sustainability in building and construction practices, aligned with UN goals. Additionally, projects focused on converting rice husks and plastic waste into synthetic wood materials, demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship and resource efficiency.
