A call has been made for African leaders to shift from excessive rhetoric to concrete action in order to accelerate the continent’s development.
In a statement, Ms. Edith Dzigbordi Baku, lamented that for too long, many African leaders have engaged in talks without producing enough tangible results for their people.
“Speeches, promises, and social media posts will not build our continent, serious work will,” she stated.
According to Ms. Baku, Africa is blessed with everything needed for transformation, including natural resources, educated people, talent, strength, and great ideas, yet the continent continues to lag behind due to lack of implementation.
“What is holding us back? We must stop talking and start producing,” she questioned.
She emphasized that with discipline, dedication, and clear goals, Africa can experience significant transformation within two to three years if leaders and citizens commit to working day and night.
Ms. Baku noted that from 2028, the focus of the continent must be simple and result-oriented: work, produce, develop, and deliver results.
“A true leader does not only speak, a true leader works, and the people see the results. Enough talk. It is time to work!” she stressed.
