Some disgruntled executives and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akansa and Srahah Electoral Area of the Kpone Katamanso Constituency have petitioned the constituency Elections Committee to postpone the scheduled swearing-in of polling station executives, citing alleged omissions and irregularities in the party’s new register.
In a petition dated June 8, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of the Elections Committee of the Kpone Katamanso Constituency of the NPP, the group raised concerns over what they describe as unfair treatment in the ongoing internal electoral process.
According to the petition, the affected applicants indicated that they duly picked nomination forms, completed all required procedures, and submitted their documents through the committee member responsible for the Middle and Northern Belt. They further stated that they also fulfilled all financial obligations associated with the process.
However, the petitioners allege that despite complying with all requirements, their names were not reflected or properly captured in the party’s updated register, unlike other applicants within the same electoral area who have reportedly been processed and communicated with.
They argue that proceeding with the swearing-in of polling station executives under such circumstances would undermine fairness and disenfranchise qualified members whose concerns remain unresolved.
“In the interest of transparency, fairness, and justice, we respectfully request that the Elections Committee postpone the swearing-in of the polling station executives until all outstanding matters have been thoroughly reviewed and resolved,” the petition stated.
The group further warned that failure to address the issue could affect confidence in the integrity of the internal electoral process.
The petition, signed by Madam Janet Osei, Chairperson of the Great Fire Pentecostal group in Akansa Electoral Area, called on the committee to give the matter urgent attention to ensure a free, fair, and credible outcome.
The development adds to ongoing internal tensions within the Kpone Katamanso constituency structures of the NPP as the party continues its grassroots reorganization efforts.
