Appiah-Kubi Baidoo, a three-time parliamentary candidate for the Sefwi Akontombra Constituency in the Western North Region, has officially resigned from the New Patriotic Party.
In a letter dated April 16, 2025, and addressed to the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Baidoo cited years of what he described as maltreatment toward himself and his immediate family as the main reason for his resignation.
He noted that several written appeals to the national executives of the party were ignored, leaving him with no option but to step away.

Mr. Baidoo thanked the party for the opportunity to serve as a District Chief Executive and as a parliamentary candidate over the years.
He also rendered an unreserved apology to his supporters and sympathisers, acknowledging the impact his resignation may have on them.
The resignation letter has been copied to the Regional Chairman of the NPP, the General Secretary at the party’s headquarters in Accra, and the media.
