Former Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North and aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) Women’s Organiser, Betty Krosbi Mensah, has praised the government’s decision to release GH¢400 million to capitalize the Women’s Development Bank, describing the move as a bold demonstration of the NDC government’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment.
According to her, the investment goes beyond financial support and sends a strong message that women remain central to Ghana’s economic transformation.
She noted that by improving access to finance for women entrepreneurs, traders, farmers, and small business owners, the government is creating opportunities for women to expand their businesses, generate employment, and improve the livelihoods of families across the country.
Betty Krosbi Mensah commended President John Dramani Mahama for what she described as his visionary leadership in fulfilling this important commitment. She also applauded the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, for prioritizing the initiative, as well as the Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, whose consistent advocacy for women’s empowerment, education, and inclusive development continues to inspire confidence in Ghana’s future.
She stated that the initiative reflects the NDC government’s commitment to building an inclusive economy that leaves no woman behind.
As an aspiring NDC Women’s Organiser, Betty Krosbi Mensah reaffirmed her commitment to championing policies and programmes that empower women, strengthen communities, and promote sustainable economic growth.
“When women are empowered, families prosper, communities thrive, and Ghana moves forward,” she emphasized.
