Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Johnson Pandit Asiama, has called on African leaders and key stakeholders to prioritise the development of a connected continental financial network by 2030.
Speaking at the 2025 3i Africa Summit, Asiama emphasised the need for collaborative policy frameworks, highlighting that no single country can achieve this vision in isolation.
He stressed the importance of unity, shared commitment, and timely policy implementation to realise the African dream of “One Africa, One Market.”
Meanwhile, Johnson Pandit Asiama revealed that the Bank of Ghana is partnering with the National Bank of Rwanda and the Global Financial Technology Network Initiative on the Next Gen Digital Payment Infrastructure Project.
This collaboration aims to modernise Africa’s payment ecosystem and unlock the full potential of the continent’s digital economy.
He expressed confidence in the initiative, citing the success of previous collaborations that have already delivered positive outcomes. Asiama noted that these encouraging results demonstrate that regional integration is not only possible but within reach.
