The Chief and Elders of Bokurowa in the Ahafo Ano South East District of the Ashanti Region have made a passionate appeal to the government and other stakeholders to address what they describe as years of neglect that have deprived the community of basic amenities.
According to the traditional leaders, despite Bokurowa’s status as the ancestral home of the Bokurowa community, residents continue to struggle with inadequate infrastructure and limited access to essential services.

The Chief and Elders have publicly appealed for support to improve the community’s school facilities, electricity supply, road network and teachers’ bungalow.
Speaking to the media, Nana Adjei Boadu said the school is facing several challenges, including a shortage of educational materials, which is affecting teaching and learning.

He revealed that the school has only six classrooms serving pupils from Kindergarten to Class Six. According to him, the poor state of the school infrastructure, lack of electricity, poor road conditions and inadequate teachers’ accommodation have made it difficult to attract and retain teachers in the community.

Nana Adjei Boadu therefore appealed to the general public, individuals and corporate organisations to support efforts to improve the school’s facilities and create a conducive learning environment for pupils.
The Chief and Elders further disclosed that several complaints have been lodged with local Assembly Members, but no concrete action has been taken to address concerns regarding the school infrastructure and teachers’ bungalow.

They are therefore calling on the government and other stakeholders to intervene and help address the community’s pressing development needs.
The community members, together with Nana Adjei Boadu, are specifically appealing to the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Yakubu Mohammed, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Yaba Nelson Ibrahim, Assembly Member for the Bokurowa Electoral Area, Hon. Seidu Mumuni, and the central government to provide improved school facilities, teachers’ accommodation, better roads and reliable electricity for the community.
They expressed hope that their appeal would receive urgent attention to improve the living and learning conditions of residents, particularly schoolchildren in the area.
