The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the reappointment of Carlos Queiroz as head coach of the Black Stars.
The Portuguese tactician has agreed to take charge of the national team under a new coaching mandate following discussions involving the GFA, Queiroz and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.
Queiroz’s previous assignment came to an end after he led Ghana at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup.
However, the GFA has opted to retain the experienced coach, with his new tenure set to begin during the next international window.
In announcing the decision on Wednesday, September 2, the football governing body cited Queiroz’s international experience, technical expertise and familiarity with the Black Stars as key factors behind his reappointment.
The GFA said these qualities put the Portuguese coach in a strong position to guide the team through its next phase.
The Association, however, did not disclose the duration of the new contract or other specific terms of the agreement.
It said details of Queiroz’s new mandate, as well as the Black Stars’ upcoming programme, would be communicated in due course.
Queiroz will now begin preparations for Ghana’s next international assignments as the GFA seeks to build a new chapter for the Black Stars on the international stage.
