Her Ladyship, the Chief Justice, Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo, is scheduled to address the nation today, Tuesday, June 24, at 3:00 p.m.
The much-anticipated address will take place at The Palms by Eagles Airport City, formerly known as the Holiday Inn Hotel.
This comes on the heels of her suspension and the ongoing proceedings by the Justice Pwamang Committee set up to investigate multiple petitions seeking her removal from office.
The Presidency earlier confirmed that it had received three petitions filed on February 14 and March 17, 2025, calling for Justice Torkornoo’s removal.
In accordance with Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution, President John Mahama referred the petitions to the Council of State, leading to the formation of a five-member committee.
The committee is chaired by Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang and includes Justices Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu, Daniel Yao Domelevo, Major Flora Bazuwaaruah Dalugo, and Professor James Sefah Dziasah.
