Acting CEO of GIFEC, Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, has described Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo’s injunction appeal at the supreme court against the five-member committee hearing her removal as hypocritical and laughable.
He stressed that the demands made by the Chief Justice are not only unserious and hypocritical but also lack merit and appear to be politically motivated.
He questioned why the Chief Justice, who is expected to uphold justice and fairness, would resort to such a move, which he says undermines public trust in the judicial system. SPEAKING on ABC News GH on Thursday, he said
“there is too much hypocrisy in his country,” he said.
Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, also raised concerns about the political neutrality of the legal team representing the Chief Justice.
Dr. Tanko-Computer stated that the legal team led by former Attorney General Godfred Dame is politically affiliated with the NPP, casting doubt on her intentions.
Dr. Tanko-Computer dismissed the conflict of interest question about some justices on the committee.
