The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has issued a passionate call to the nation’s leaders to take a firm stance against corruption, warning that it is destroying the very fabric of society.
He urged political leaders to resist the temptations of corruption and prioritize enforcing laws that foster a shift in the mindset of the populace.
According to him, without this transformation, the country’s fight against corruption would remain futile.
Apostle Nyamekye highlighted the devastating impact of corruption, stating, “Corruption is a social danger. It breeds unemployment. Corruption undermines honesty and hard work. It favors the privileged few.”
His remarks underline the inequality and stagnation that corruption causes, particularly for those who are disadvantaged. He stressed that these systemic issues can only be resolved if leaders take decisive action.
He concluded that the heart of the issue lies in the individual. “The center is the human being. So if you just try to tackle the issue without changing the human being, nothing will change,” he explained.
For him, altering people’s mindset is the key to improving the nation’s economic prospects and restoring hope for a more just society.
