Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Ampem Nyarko has commended Italy for its sustained support to Ghana, especially in the cocoa and health sectors.
Speaking after a high-level bilateral meeting between Ghanaian and Italian officials, the Deputy Minister praised Italy’s renewed commitment to Ghana’s cocoa industry, calling it “timely and strategic” in boosting farmer livelihoods and reinforcing the country’s agricultural value chain.
He emphasized the importance of this partnership in fortifying a sector that remains a critical driver of Ghana’s economy.
Hon. Ampem Nyarko also acknowledged Italy’s pledged assistance to the health sector, citing plans for investment in capacity building, digital health infrastructure, and systems strengthening.
The Deputy Minister urged the Italian delegation to collaborate closely with Ghanaian authorities to expedite these developmental projects.
He further recommended that the outcomes of this collaboration be incorporated into Ghana’s 2026 national budget to ensure continuity and impact.
