The 2024 parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Tema Central, Ebi Bright, has been nominated as the new Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) in the Greater Accra Region.
Her nomination is in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended by the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2017. The appointment is currently pending approval by the Tema Metropolitan Assembly.
The development was contained in an official letter dated April 23, 2025, and jointly signed by Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, and the Minister for Local Government, Ahmed Ibrahim.
In addition to Ebi Bright, Abdulai Mahmud has been appointed District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole Bamboi in the Savannah Region, and Masud Musah Ayaaba Thomas for Atebubu-Amantin in the Bono East Region.
Twenty-eight other individuals have also been nominated for various district leadership roles in Greater Accra, including Ignatius Godfred Dordoe as DCE for Shai Osudoku and Raphael Uriel Nartey for Kpone Katamanso.
