The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned power interruption on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in parts of the Greater Accra and Western Regions.
The exercise, scheduled between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm in Greater Accra, will affect areas such as Mensvic Hotel, Lancet Medical Laboratory, Ghana Link, Franko Estate, and Ofankor.
In the Western Region, maintenance works will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, impacting Agona, Dupaul, Apremdo, Whindo, Kwesimintsim, Assakae, Mpatado, Adientem, and surrounding communities.
ECG explained that the maintenance is part of broader efforts to strengthen and improve the reliability of Ghana’s power distribution network.
The company also highlighted ongoing challenges stemming from recent severe rainstorms and stormy winds, which have resulted in widespread power outages.
According to ECG, incidents such as fallen trees, ripped roofs, and collapsed billboards damaging electrical conductors have contributed to disruptions.
While outages caused by transient tripping are quickly restored, more severe faults require extended repair work.
“We are working tirelessly to strengthen and maintain a robust distribution network,” ECG said, assuring customers of their commitment to swiftly addressing faults and restoring power.
The company also apologized for the inconvenience the maintenance and unexpected outages may cause, encouraging the public to remain alert and regularly check official communication channels for updates.
