The Communications Director of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Soprano Sarpong, has boldly declared that defeating the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming 2024 elections will be an easy task for the party.

Speaking on ABC Midday News on Monday, November 18, 2024, Sarpong referred to the NPP and NDC as “elephants and umbrellas,” questioning the source of the funds being used to finance their high-budget campaigns.

He emphasized that the CPP, which has a rich history of defeating formidable adversaries, remains undeterred and confident in its path forward.

Sarpong pointed out that while these larger parties spend extravagantly, the CPP is focused on the future and the promises it holds for the youth of Ghana.

He accused government officials of taking advantage of the system, gaining citizenship in first-class countries while the nation’s youth struggle with the burdens of national debt.

“We are being forced to pay loans that they incurred, while they live abroad, enjoying the fruits of their position,” Sarpong lamented.

He urged young Ghanaians to be more discerning in their voting decisions, especially as the nation approaches the December elections.

Adding to the party’s optimistic outlook, the Flagbearer of the CPP, Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong-Kumakumah, announced the launch of the CPP’s 2024 manifesto, which focuses on women’s liberalization and economic freedom for all.

Sarpong-Kumakumah likened their manifesto to the work of Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, who fought for political independence.

She believes that the CPP’s plan will bring about economic freedom for women and contribute to the overall prosperity of the nation, ensuring that all Ghanaians have the opportunity to shape their own destinies.

At the launch of the Women’s Manifesto, Wayoe Ghanamannti, the CPP’s vice-presidential candidate, made a bold promise that under a CPP government, there would be no incarceration for the possession of cannabis.

Ghanamannti encouraged the youth of Ghana to embrace the spirit of Kwame Nkrumah, emphasizing the importance of youth-led change in the upcoming elections.

With the CPP’s focus on youth empowerment, women’s rights, and economic independence, the party is positioning itself as a strong contender for the 2024 elections.
