In the wake of the ongoing nationwide strike by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), which has entered its second week, the Ministry of Health has released a list of health facilities both private and public that remain operational across the country.
The move is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted access to healthcare services amid the disruption.
“In line with the Ministry’s policy to ensure a healthy population for national development, it has become necessary to make provisions to fill the gaps created as a result of the strike,” the Ministry stated.
This was contained in an official statement released on June 10, 2025, and signed by Mr. Isaac Offei Baah, Head of the Public Relations Unit at the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry further urged the general public to continue visiting health centres where services remain available, stressing that care provision is ongoing in select facilities.
“Consequently, the Ministry urges the general public to continue seeking healthcare services at various health facilities, including those where nursing services remain available, to ensure their needs are met,” the statement added.
The Ministry assured the public of its commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of all citizens, even as it continues to engage stakeholders to resolve the current impasse with the nurses and midwives.
