President John Dramani Mahama has suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo following the establishment of a prima facie case against her.
The decision, made in accordance with Article 146(6) of the Constitution, comes after consultations with the Council of State. A committee has been set up to investigate three petitions filed against the Chief Justice.
The suspension takes immediate effect pending the outcome of the probe.
