Communications member George Ayisi of the Ken Agyapong camp has challenged the notion that 60 MPs identified as pro-Bawumia will automatically support the former Vice President in the NPP flagbearer race.
Speaking exclusively on ABC News GH on Tuesday, June 24, Ayisi argued that loyalty in the race will be determined by individual calculations rather than survey labels.
“We can bet on that the majority will be with the Ken Camp,” he said, noting that many MPs choose to vote individually and have already signalled their preference for Kennedy Agyapong.
Ayisi dismissed claims that these parliamentarians are firmly in Bawumia’s corner, saying surveys merely highlight gaps and opportunities.
“Surveys give reasons to see the gaps and know how to fill them,” he explained, suggesting that the Ken Camp’s ground engagements and youth outreach have already begun to shift allegiances ahead of the January 2026 primaries.
