NDC Presidential Aspirant, Hon. Edith Dzigbordi Baku, has outlined her vision for Ghana, anchored on public safety, accountability and transparent governance.
In a statement, Hon. Baku said she is not entering politics to enrich herself, but to serve the people, protect national resources and build a country that works for everyone.
She disclosed that one of her top priorities will be public safety. According to her, her administration will establish a modern, properly regulated camera-security system in strategic public places across the country to help prevent crime, provide reliable evidence and enable security agencies to respond quickly. She stressed that the system will operate under strong laws that protect citizens’ privacy and prevent political abuse.
On corruption, the aspirant stated that public funds belong to the people and must be protected. She said her government will confront corruption with courage, ensuring that anyone found guilty of serious corruption faces firm and proportionate punishment, including lengthy imprisonment where appropriate. She added that investigations will be independent, trials will be fair, and the law will apply equally to everyone regardless of position, wealth or political affiliation.
Hon. Baku further indicated plans to introduce secure and connected digital systems to make government transactions, contracts and public spending transparent and traceable. She noted that effective systems will reduce manipulation, improve public services and allow citizens to see how their money is being used.
She maintained that transforming Ghana cannot be the work of one leader alone, and pledged to bring together competent professionals and mobilise Ghanaians both home and abroad to participate in rebuilding the nation.
“My vision is not merely to make promises. It is to present practical policies, clear budgets, realistic timelines and measurable results,” she stated.
“Together, we will build a safer, fairer and more accountable Ghana,” she added.
