The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the registration of additional delegates into its presidential primary voter register ahead of the Saturday, January 31, 2026, presidential primary elections.

The registration is in accordance with Article 13(1)(11) of the Party’s Constitution and follows a motion on transitional provisions adopted at the National Annual Delegates Conference held in Accra on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

According to a circular issued by the Party’s Presidential Elections Committee and signed by its Secretary, William Yamoah, several categories of officials and dignitaries have now been added to the voter register (album).

The newly added delegates are as follows:

  1. All former Regional Executives
  2. All former Constituency Executives
  3. All Members of the National Council of Elders
  4. Thirty (30) Members of the National Council of Patrons
  5. All former party card-bearing Members of Parliament
  6. All former party card-bearing Parliamentary Candidates
  7. All past National Officers
  8. All External Branch Executives
  9. All former External Branch Executives
  10. TESCON President from each recognized tertiary institution
  11. National TESCON Coordinator
  12. All Regional TESCON Coordinators
  13. One (1) TESCON Patron from each recognized institution
  14. All former party card-bearing Ministers and Deputy Ministers
  15. All former party card-bearing MMDCEs
  16. Ten (10) Members from each Regional Council of Elders
  17. Ten (10) Patrons from each Region
  18. Five (5) Members of each Constituency Council of Elders
  19. Five (5) Patrons from each Constituency

“All officers that fall under the categories above are requested to register their names with their respective organisational structures, including the National Secretariat, Regions, Constituencies and External Branches, as applicable with immediate effect,” the statement directed.

For ease of access, an online registration link will be provided and circulated to the External Branch Executives to register digitally. Other qualified members are advised to liaise with their respective Regions and Constituencies to complete the process. The registration form may be downloaded from the Party’s official website.

The deadline for registration has been set for Friday, September 19, 2025. Officials emphasized that the exercise is “exclusively open to officers and members who meet the aforementioned criteria.”

The statement also assured that the Party will ensure transparency and credibility in the registration exercise. “The Presidential Elections Committee shall undertake a comprehensive verification and validation of the Party’s album to ensure that only an authentic and credible register is used for the conduct of the presidential election,” it noted.

William Yamoah, Secretary to the Presidential Elections Committee, signed the statement, which was copied to the Chairman of the Committee and the Party’s General Secretary.

The Party concluded by urging all stakeholders to cooperate. “We count on your usual cooperation and adherence to this directive in furtherance of the Party’s commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and transparency,” the statement read.
