President John Dramani Mahama has nominated seven Justices from the Court of Appeal for consideration to the Supreme Court of Ghana.
The nominations, made pursuant to Article 144(2) of the 1992 Constitution, were announced in an official statement issued on April 29, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, Ph.D.
The statement, which was copied to the Vice President and the Chief of Staff, signifies a significant step in reshaping the composition of the country’s highest court.
The nominated Justices are as follows:

- Justice Gbiel Simon Suurbaareh
- Justice Senyo Dzamefe
- Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo
