The Rent Control Department has launched a digital platform aimed at transforming Ghana’s rental service system.
This platform, rentcontrol.mwh.gov.gh, is designed to help landlords and tenants handle various tasks such as property registration, complaint filing, and dispute resolution without having to visit Rent Control offices.
The initiative promises to streamline processes and improve transparency, with a focus on signing tenancy agreements digitally, ensuring secure record-keeping and reducing paperwork.
Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, praised the launch, highlighting its importance for efficiency and inclusivity.
“This digital transformation is about more than convenience; it’s about levelling the playing field for all Ghanaians, regardless of their geographical location or socio-economic status,” he said.
He emphasized that the platform is operational in 15 offices across 11 regions, with plans to extend its reach across the country.
Chief Rent Manager Twum Ampofo called the move a defining moment for the department, noting that it eliminates the frustrations caused by manual processes.
“We can now reach Ghanaians no matter where they are, without them having to travel long distances,” Ampofo remarked.
He urged the public to embrace the system, stressing its potential to make rental services more efficient and fairer for all.
