Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar has been relocated to Morocco and will now take place on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Originally scheduled to be held in Antananarivo, the fixture was moved to the Grand Stade d’Al Hoceima after Madagascar’s national stadium failed to meet FIFA’s required standards for hosting international matches.
The Black Stars currently sit second in Group I with nine points from four matches, level with leaders Comoros. The team has had a mixed qualification campaign so far, securing three wins and one defeat.
After a disappointing loss to Comoros, Ghana bounced back with two crucial wins in June 2024, reviving their chances of securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Before facing Madagascar, Ghana will first host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 21, 2025. The Black Stars will be aiming to secure maximum points in both matches to boost their chances of securing a ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be hosted in USA, Canada, and Mexico.
