Dr. George Nana Agyekum Donkor, the newly appointed Chancellor of Nobel International Business University (NiBS), has vowed to revolutionize the institution’s curriculum by incorporating cutting-edge fields such as blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, sustainable finance, and digital entrepreneurship. The commitment was made during his acceptance speech, where he emphasized the urgent need for higher education institutions to adapt to the rapidly evolving global economy.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Donkor stressed the importance of equipping students with practical and technology-driven knowledge to prepare them for the future. “Traditional business education is no longer enough.

In an era defined by digital and green transformation, we must embrace innovative, practical, and technology-driven approaches to learning,” he declared. He further highlighted NiBS’s vision to become a center of entrepreneurial excellence, a global leader in financial education, and a hub for research and policy development.

The newly appointed Chancellor underscored the significance of digital transformation and sustainable development as key pillars for Africa’s economic growth. He noted that Africa is at a pivotal moment in history, with digital and green revolutions reshaping economies, industries, and societies worldwide. To this end, he announced the establishment of a Digital Technology and Green Research & Innovation Hub at NiBS.

The hub will focus on areas such as AI-driven climate solutions, blockchain investments, and sustainable economic modeling.

In his address, Dr. Donkor called on industry leaders, policymakers, and the private sector to collaborate in ensuring that students are well-prepared for the modern digital economy. “We must train business leaders who are not just job seekers but also job creators. Our graduates must be ambassadors of integrity, accountability, and excellence,” he stated.

NiBS, under Dr. Donkor’s leadership, aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by fostering stronger partnerships and practical learning opportunities. The university will introduce specialized programs in fintech, digital international trade, cybersecurity, AI-driven green finance, and economic analytics.

These programs will ensure that students are equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in a technology-driven global economy.

The Chancellor also emphasized the role of digital and green literacy in economic inclusion. NiBS will develop outreach programs to educate small business owners, young entrepreneurs, and underserved communities on digital banking, mobile payments, sustainable finance, and e-commerce.

“Our goal is to ensure that no one is left behind in the digital and green economic revolution,” he affirmed.

In conclusion, Dr. Donkor reaffirmed his commitment to championing digital transformation, green industrialization, and entrepreneurship as core aspects of NiBS’s academic agenda.

He called upon faculty, students, and stakeholders to collectively work toward positioning NiBS as a leader in business education and sustainable economic development. “Together, we will create a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable Africa,” he said.
