Otto Addo Announces Black Stars Squad for Austria, Germany Friendlies

Head coach of the Ghana national football team, Otto Addo, has announced his squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Austria and Germany later this month.

The squad includes four players receiving their first invitations to the national team: Derrick Luckassen, Patrick Pfeiffer, Marvin Senaya, and Daniel Agyei.

Luckassen, a centre-back currently playing for Cypriot club Pafos FC, developed through the youth system of AZ Alkmaar. The defender has previously featured for clubs such as PSV Eindhoven, Hertha BSC, R.S.C. Anderlecht and Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C.. He recently celebrated winning the Cypriot league title and also registered Pafos’ first-ever goal in the UEFA Champions League.

Marvin Senaya, who plays in the French top flight with AJ Auxerre, also earns a maiden call-up after beginning his professional career in 2021. The defender previously had spells with RC Strasbourg Alsace, FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and FC Lausanne-Sport.

Forward Daniel Agyei, who currently plays for Turkish side Kocaelispor, was born in England and has featured for clubs including Burnley F.C., Oxford United F.C., Crewe Alexandra F.C. and Leyton Orient F.C. before moving to Turkey.

Patrick Pfeiffer, a defender with German side SV Darmstadt 98, completes the list of debutants in Addo’s squad.

Meanwhile, several established players are making a return to the national team setup, including Iñaki Williams, Ibrahim Sulemana, Thomas Partey and Alexander Djiku.

The Black Stars will first take on Austria in Vienna on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to face Germany three days later.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Benjamin Asare, Joseph Anang.

Defenders:
Patrick Pfeiffer, Derrick Luckassen, Derrick Kohn, Jerome Opoku, Caleb Yirenkyi, Kojo Oppoong Pepprah, Jonas Adjetey, Marvin Senaya, Alexander Djiku, Gideon Mensah.

Midfielders:
Thomas Partey, Elisha Owusu, Ibrahim Sulemana, Kwasi Sibo.

Forwards/Wingers:
Brandon Thomas-Asante, Jordan Ayew, Prince Adu, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Iñaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Daniel Agyei.

Ghana will use the two matches as part of preparations ahead of upcoming 2026 World Cup in June.
