The first general assembly meeting of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly for the year was called off after the presence of National Security operatives at the venue created tension and disrupted proceedings.
The meeting, which was underway in Ejisu in the Ashanti Region was attended by assembly members and officials including Hon. Adom Saahene, Assemblyman for the Ejisu Abenease Electoral Area and also the Finance and Administration Chairman.

Although the meeting had commenced as scheduled the situation reportedly became tense following the arrival and presence of National Security personnel at the venue. In response, assembly members decided to suspend discussions and subsequently called off the meeting to restore calm.
The development has raised concerns among residents and observers of local governance with questions emerging about what triggered the security presence at the assembly session.
The abrupt end of the meeting, however, has sparked discussions on local governance processes and the smooth functioning of assembly activities in the municipality.
