President Akufo-Addo announced that the first phase of the Suame interchange project will be completed by the end of 2024.
This declaration was made during a sod-cutting ceremony for the Anwiankwanta-Ahenema Kokoben Road dualization.
Akufo-Addo emphasized the significant progress made in road infrastructure under his administration, contrasting it with the achievements of previous administrations.
“We have completed 12,830 kilometres of roads since 2017, a stark contrast to the 4,636 kilometres achieved from 2009 to 2016,” he stated.
The President underscored the importance of continuous investment in infrastructure to cater to Ghana’s growing population.
Highlighting various projects in the Ashanti Region, President Akufo-Addo mentioned the construction of two bridges at Susanso-Anloga and Kokoso-Bohyen, and reiterated his government’s commitment to dualizing roads in densely populated areas.
He cited the dualization of the Ofankor-Nsawam and Adenta roads as crucial steps in decongesting major corridors.
“The strategic projects we’re initiating are not merely infrastructure projects; they demonstrate our approach to solving real-life challenges,” he concluded.
Akufo-Addo’s assurance of the timely completion of these vital developments reflects his administration’s dedication to addressing the nation’s infrastructure needs comprehensively.
