A viral video circulating on social media has led to the arrest and prosecution of Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, who has now been granted bail by the Adenta Circuit Court.

The outspoken counsellor appeared before the court after police accused him of making comments that could provoke a breach of the peace in connection with the residence of late highlife musician Daddy Lumba.

Lutterodt has been charged with one count of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace. He pleaded not guilty when the charge was read in court.

The court subsequently admitted him to bail in the sum of GH¢50,000 with two sureties, both of whom are required to justify the bail.

Prosecutors told the court that the accused, a biomedical clinical engineer who lives at the SSNIT Flats in Adenta in Accra, came to the attention of the police after a video of his remarks began circulating widely on Facebook.

The footage, which appeared on the Kwesi TV platform on Monday, March 9, 2026, allegedly shows Lutterodt urging some youth to move to the home of the late musician to verify claims that he had been buried there.

In the video, the accused is quoted in the charge sheet as saying: “if it is true that Lumba as it is alleged has been buried in the house, I want to ask the Ga boys in Accra that we shouldn’t wait for the Police, let’s move to the residence of Lumba and I am calling action now for the desigration of the land walk to the house with pick axe.

“We are not fighting any human being, enter the residence of Lumba and let’s find where the body has been buried.”

The prosecution said the circulation of the video prompted police to arrest the accused.

Investigators also informed the court that another video later surfaced showing a number of youth, believed to be Ga residents, gathering near the residence of the late musician.

According to the prosecution, investigations into the matter are ongoing.
