Former Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, has condemned the Attorney General’s decision to discontinue the high-profile Unibank trial involving Dr. Kwabena Duffuor and seven others.
Describing the move as a “disgrace to justice,” Dr. Adomako said the filing of a nolle prosequi by Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine undermines accountability in Ghana’s financial sector.
Speaking on ABC in the morning, Dr. Adomako accused the Attorney General of betraying public trust, arguing that the decision represents a “great disservice to the country.”
He stressed that the legal process should have been allowed to run its course, especially given the magnitude of the issues surrounding the collapse of Unibank.
“AG should have allowed the court to make the determination,” he said.
Dr. Adomako further criticized the removal of the presiding judge from the process, saying, “They shouldn’t have do away with the judge.”
