The Acting Commissioner of Ghana’s Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau (AIB), John Mmeb Kunyan Wumborti, has provided an update on ongoing investigations into recent aircraft accidents in the country.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Wumborti revealed that several cases are currently under investigation, including the tragic crash at Tema involving two siblings. He explained that the Bureau is awaiting key findings, including the autopsy report, as part of efforts to determine the cause of the incident. He further noted that the aircraft involved was not manufactured in Ghana. According to him, the Bureau is expected to release its findings by May 29.
Meanwhile, aviation expert Captain Paul Forjoe indicated that investigators have gathered substantial evidence so far. However, he emphasized the need for further validation to ensure accuracy and rule out any inconsistencies.
Captain Forjoe added that the team is carefully reviewing all findings and will eliminate any anomalies identified during the process. He reiterated that conducting an autopsy is a necessary step in the investigation to establish the facts conclusively.
