The Board of Directors of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has announced that Dr. Frank Owusu-Sekyere, Director of Medical Affairs, will assume the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer effective October 6th, 2024. This decision follows the conclusion of the four-year term of the current CEO, Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, on October 5th, 2024. The Board confirmed the transition in a formal statement released today.
The outgoing CEO, Dr. Ampomah, was commended for his exceptional leadership over the past four years. Board Chair, Dr. David Nkawansa Dwamena, expressed gratitude on behalf of the institution, saying, “We congratulate Dr. Ampomah for his dedication and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the Hospital during his tenure.” The Board acknowledged his instrumental role in enhancing patient care and overseeing key projects during his time as CEO.
