Former Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, has called for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elevate Bryan Acheampong from what he described as a long-standing position on the party’s backbench to a more prominent leadership role.
In an exclusive comment ahead of the party’s upcoming leadership contest, Dr. Adomako Kissi asserted that Acheampong is “a self-made man to a large extent” and has what it takes to reposition the NPP for the future.
His endorsement joins a rising tide of support from party insiders rallying behind potential candidates for the January 2026 flagbearership race.
Dr. Adomako Kissi also drew a provocative parallel between Bryan Acheampong and former U.S. President Donald Trump, arguing that the Abetifi MP shares Trump’s boldness, strategic vision, and disruptive energy.
According to him, Bryan Acheampong has the boldness, strategy, and resources to renew the NPP base and lead the party into an era..
Stressing the need for a transformative figure, he urged party delegates to “be wide awake” and not overlook Acheampong’s potential.
The endorsement signals an emerging shift in internal dynamics as the NPP gears up for one of its most competitive leadership races in years.
