The Member of Parliament for the Salaga-South Constituency, Hon Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has on Friday, 8th May 2026, commissioned a brand-new grinding mill for the residents of Kitoe, aimed at easing the burden on women and improving livelihoods within the community.

According to the legislator, during her community engagement visits ahead of the 2024 general elections, the women of Kitoe passionately appealed for support, explaining the difficulties they faced in travelling long distances to Salaga to grind cereals and other food items, often under challenging and unhygienic conditions.

In response to their concerns and as part of her commitment to addressing the needs of her constituents, the MP facilitated the procurement and installation of the grinding mill for the community.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the MP thanked the people of Kitoe for their patience and continued support. She reaffirmed her dedication to championing initiatives that bring relief and improve the quality of life of residents across the constituency. She also took the opportunity to update the community on a number of interventions and development efforts she has undertaken since assuming office as their representative.

On behalf of the women and people of Kitoe, Madam Inusah Birimini who is the branch women’s organizer expressed profound appreciation to the MP for listening to their concerns and fulfilling the promise made to the community. She noted that the grinding mill would significantly reduce the burden on women and contribute positively to economic and household activities in the area.

Prior to the commissioning, the MP held a community engagement meeting with the chief, women, and residents of Kitoe. She was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kassim Yazid Rabiu; the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz; and branch executives from Kitoe led by the Branch Chairman, Mr. Mahama Salifu.
